The History And Rivalry Between Scotland And England

It wasn’t until 1707 that Scotland and England officially agreed to end their rivalry and move forward as countries. It was this Act of Union that created the Kingdom of Great Britain, once both parliaments had agreed on putting an end to their rivalry. This created free trade from Scotland to England, as well as the colonies. Scotland played a big part in the development of Britain’s empire. They also took a part in the inventions that arose from the Industrial Revolution, as well as the wealth that came into Britain as a result.

It wasn’t until the end of the 18th century that Scotland had its most creative period. There were many famous people who arose from this time who won world fame in various aspects and subjects. It wasn’t until the next generation that Sir Walter Scott made Scotland known throughout the world. The Scots were actively involved in establishing the colonies throughout America, Canada and Australia. It eventually came to pass that the Scots were merged with the United Kingdom, but they continued to be an integral part of world affairs in more than many people would assume. There was a new parliament that was created down the road that is still making its mark on the people of the town.
